Timotay's Tasty Time

Wine of the Week

Llopart’s Ex Vite Brut Nature Gran Reserva 2009

Okay, so like, when you drink this wine, it's kinda like when you’ve been playing on the playground all day, and you’re really thirsty, but instead of getting a juice box, you get, like, a golden treasure chest full of bubbles.

It’s from Corpinnat, which is, like, a super cool group of winemakers in Penedès that make sparkly stuff, but they do it with grapes that they, like, super take care of, like a pet hamster or something. This one’s called Ex Vite because it’s like the king of their grapes or something, like, it’s got a cape and a throne and a jester and everything.

When you taste it, it's like tiny tickles in your mouth, but fancy tickles, like from a feather made of stars. I taste apples, but not like the lunchbox ones - these apples are from, like, Grandpapa’s tree. And there’s a bit of lemon but without the sour face.

The best part? The finish is like when you sit by the ocean, and the salty air feels cool but kinda sweet too. I think the people at Llopart made this wine with love - like, real love, the kind you feel when you get extra chocolate and a golden penny in your ice cream.

I’m giving it a “Deep Wine Stain” because, hello, it's stuck in my head now forever, like when you spill grape juice on your white T-shirt, and no matter how many times you wash it, it’s still there.
